Here is what I am reading now, then and next!

Now…

41fRfQGGQOL._AC_US160_I’m on the verge of starting The Ship by Antonia Honeywell. I’m really not sure what to expect from this one – here is the blurb…

Welcome to London, but not as you know it. Oxford Street burned for three weeks; Regent’s Park has been bombed; the British Museum is occupied by those with nowhere else to go.

Lalla has grown up sheltered from the chaos, but now she’s sixteen, her father decides it’s time to use their escape route – a ship big enough to save five hundred people. Once on board, as day follows identical day, Lalla’s unease grows. Where are they going? What does her father really want? What is the price of salvation?

Earlier this week I read How Not To Disappear by Clare Furniss, which I thought was totally brilliant – and even better than her debut The Year of the Rat. I was sad to finish it! I’ll post a review soon.

I’ve also started and ditched three or four books in the past few weeks. I don’t know if it’s just me struggling to get into anything, or if I’ve just happened to pick up loads of stinkers!

Next…

I picked up Fingersmith by Sarah Waters in a charity shop at the weekend, and I also have 51ztys-vu8l-_ac_us160_ 51hbb2gmmkl-_ac_us160_ by The Little Stranger by the same author waiting to be read, so I might get round to these next.

What are you reading now, then and next?
