Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by the Should Be Reading blog.
If you fancy joining in, here’s how…
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two teaser sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!
• Share the title and author so other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers!
I’ve not done this for such a long time, but I saw a few other posts today and felt inspired. I’m currently reading A Perfectly Good Family by Lionel Shriver, which is the fourth Shriver novel I’ve read, and which I’m enjoying so far. The premise is simple but really interesting – three very different siblings come together after the death of their mother and try and work out how to settle the estate. All three of them are pretty annoying frankly, which can be a bit of a trademark of Shriver’s novels!
Here are my two teaser sentences taken at random from chapter 2…
“If I were to assert that my younger brother had never left home at the age of thirty-one, he would object. Ten years before, he’d refurbished the top floor into an independent flat; he liked to regard the fact that his address tags still read “309 Blount Street” and his zip code hadn’t changed since he was two as mere coincidence.”
