A beautiful yet bleak novel set during World War II….

All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

all the lightDespite being overly wordy and sometimes confusing, I thought this novel was really beautiful. We follow two characters, blind Marie-Laure and orphan Werner as they struggle to cope with everything life throws at them during the war. I loved both these characters and found myself desperately hoping for everything to work out for them against the odds.

The novel managed to be depressing yet uplifting all at once, and it is definitely one I would read again in the future.
