Here is what I am reading now, then and next!
Now…
I’m very near to finishing The Proof of Love by Catherine Hall. It’s quite an unusual book – lots about sheep! – but the characters are fascinating and I’m enjoying it a lot so far. I reckon I’ll be done with it later today and will write a review when I can.
Then…
I finally got round to reading Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell, which was actually better than I had expected – I thought it would be a lot fluffier but actually it’s quite gritty and very sad in places.
I also recently finished The Marrying of Chani Kaufmann by Eve Harris, which I really enjoyed – with a few reservations! The book gave a really interesting insight into the lives of orthodox Jews living in north London – and it was quite funny too. Review to come tomorrow.
Next…
I need to read Perfect by Rachel Joyce for my October book group in a few weeks. I also have Patrick Gale’s new book A Place Called Winter waiting to be read – he is one of my favourite authors so that is definitely near the top of my To Be Read list!
I’m looking forward to reading Eleanor and Park. Good to know it’s not just fluff 🙂
Thanks for visiting my WWW and happy reading!

All of the books you’ve written about are on my TBR and all are books I’m so keen to read! I especially want to read A Place Called Winter soon, Patrick Gale is one of my favourite authors too. 🙂

Glad we’re on the same wavelength! I think I’m putting off reading the Patrick Gale as I won’t have any of his novels left to read when I’m done!

Now you’ve said that I reckon I’ve probably been subconsciously doing the same thing!

I really enjoyed Eleanor & Park too; wasn’t expecting the deeper social issues at all.
Here’s my Wednesday post – http://bookboodle.co.uk/2015/10/07/www-wednesday-october-7th 🙂

Eleanor & Park is the only Rowell book I haven’t read. Your thoughts on it sound encouraging. Happy reading! https://ireadboooks.wordpress.com/2015/10/07/www-wednesdays-october-7-2015/

I enjoyed E & P though I have to say it’s not my favorite Rowell book. Here’s my post for the week: http://darcysbookblog.com/2015/10/07/this-week-in-books-10-07-15/

It’s a tie between Attachments and Fangirl. I loved both of those so much!

I want to read A Place Called Winter too and I’m quite interested by the Catherine Hall although I’m struggling to think how there can possibly be that much to say about sheep! Thank you for visiting my Wednesday Post earlier today https://cleopatralovesbooks.wordpress.com/2015/10/07/this-week-in-books-october-7/

Oh shearing, herding, being bitten by dogs – there was tons for the author to talk about! I would also highly recommend Repercussions by Catherine Hall which I read earlier this year and thought was brilliant.

It’s quite an unusual book – lots about sheep! – I don’t know why this made me laugh, but it did! It seems like everyone’s reading Eleanor and Park. I’m not gonna do it and no one can make me! -.- haha. My Week in Books

Honestly there was a lot of sheep stuff! Still a great book though. Yes stick by your guns and avoid E&P if you don’t fancy it!!
