Top 5 Wednesday (on Thursday) – Things on my bookshelf that aren’t books

I have just spotted a blog post over on the fabulous Bibliophile Gathering blog which I liked so much that I’ve decided to take part in – even if I am a day late! I hope I haven’t broken any blog etiquette rules or anything but here goes…

Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey at gingerreadslainey on YouTube and yesterday’s topic was “things on my bookshelf that aren’t books”. So here are my five pics – a day late…

1. Old teddies

These all belonged to my husband when he was a little boy. I definitely never saw myself as the sort of person who would have teddies on their bookshelves, but I like these funny old ones. Also the classics next to Yogi look impressive, even though I don’t think I’ve read any of them!

2. A cat figurine painted by my daughter

I don’t like cats, and this one doesn’t seem to have any eyes. But, hey, my little girl painted it so it remains on the bookshelf.

3. Jars that I have painted and decorated with washi tape

These are empty and serve no real purpose. Not entirely sure why they are still sitting here….

4. A wooden London bus and an old car

A few toys have found their way onto the bookshelf too but I don’t mind these ones as, as toys go, I think they are pretty cool.

5. Russian dolls

These are mine – I love Russian dolls so take full responsibility for them being on the bookshelves.

So what do you have on your bookshelves that aren’t books? Or do you have clutter free shelving?

  1. That little cat figure is so adorable! 😀 I personally only have books on my bookshelves… although, I do have two whole shelves dedicated to computer and PS3 games – but they count more as my brother’s shelves than my own. Great post xoxo

    1. Thank you! Maybe I can post the cat to you and you can get a non-book collection started for your shelves? 😉
But I admire your tidiness! I wouldn’t know where else to put half the stuff…
