Here are the questions that were set for me, and my answers…

1) If a book was written about your life, what would the title be?
The Lazy Bibliophile

2) What was the first book you can remember reading (or being read to you)?
I remember reading and loving the Mr Men books by Roger Hargreaves. My daughter now has the complete set too.

3) What’s your favourite genre of books?
I guess Contemporary Fiction would be the best way to describe it.

4) If you could choose one book to be turned into a movie adaptation, what would it be?
This is a tricky one, as film adaptations can so often be disappointing and I wouldn’t want to see a much-loved book ruined! But I would go for The Night Circus as I would love to see it translated to the big screen.

5) What’s your favourite reading format: Hardback, Paperback or E-book?
Although I dabble with ebooks, I am definitely a fan of paperbacks. I hate hardbacks as they are a pain to carry about and read on public transport, and they’re just not bendy enough!

6) Do you come from a family of readers, or are you the only one?
Just about everyone in my family is a reader, and I’m hoping to pass the habit on to my children too.

7) Have you asked for any books for Christmas? If so, which ones?
I asked for The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey which I read last year and loved. My copy was from the library so I wanted my very own. I also downloaded quite a few ebooks over the Christmas hols – a gift to myself!

8) Have you ever been to a book festival or author event?
I’ve been to a few author events, and I find it really interesting to hear what motivates and inspires writers.

9) Do you have a favourite bookshop you visit often? Maybe an indie in your hometown/city?
I do like this little shop near me, which is very friendly and ideal for bookish gifts!

10) Do you own any signed copies of books? If so, which ones?
Yes – How To Be Good by Nick Hornby. He is an Arsenal fan like me, and my husband went to one of his readings and asked Hornby to sign a copy for me. He wrote a football-inspired message for me 🙂
